Best Hotel and Lodging Integrated Ad Campaign, Best Travel Online Newsletter Campaign and Outstanding Website

We’re going to use this blog post to do a little bragging about winning three 2013 Internet Advertising Competition Awards. Miles and our clients took home Best Hotel and Lodging Integrated Ad Campaign, Best Travel Online Newsletter Campaign and Outstanding Website.

First up, the colorful and engaging Delaware Tourism online newsletter campaign won for Best Travel Online Newsletter Campaign. The audience for this email campaign is 35,000+ leisure travelers who have opted in to receive Delaware travel ideas via email. Products include a single-message, postcard-style eBlast and a robust themed eNewsletter promoting feature articles, events, advertising and more. Both are deployed monthly and serve up timely, seasonal content. Miles team members that contributed to the project include Account Director Andrea Evans, Project Manager Lori Bollinger, Content Director Melissa Bartalos, Art Director Evelyn Esperanca and Project Coordinator Amanda Steward. We of course worked closely with the good folks at the Delaware Tourism Office to concept and execute the winning campaign, namely Executive Director Linda Parkowski, Marketing & Public Relations Coordinator Peter Bothum and Digital Media Coordinator Elizabeth Purcell. Go team!


The integrated ad campaign we created for Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa took home Best Hotel and Lodging Integrated Ad Campaign. Kudos go out to Camron Reid, Director of Communications for Miles Hospitality, and Kim Palmer, Director of Online Marketing for Miles Hospitality. Geared towards leisure travelers looking to vacation in Florida, Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa launched an integrated ad campaign that utilized advertisements, e-newsletters and email promotions with the goal of boosting room bookings for the resort. Each of the different elements encouraged bookings by promoting special pricing, vacation packages and activity offers geared towards leisure travelers. 

Working with Destination DC Executive Director Elliott Ferguson and Senior Manager, Digital Marketing & Website Operations Daniel Kleiner, Miles developed an innovative responsive design website,, which took home honors for Outstanding Website. Aimed at the leisure and group travel markets for Washington, D.C., the new website employs responsive design to meet the needs of travel planners regardless of the platform chosen to view the site. For smartphone and widescreen desktop and everything in between, it provides robust planning information, inspirational content to encourage visitation and vastly improved visibility for Destination DC’s member base. Miles team members involved in the project include Account Director Steve Berlin, Interactive Producer Brooke Adcox, Art Director Evelyn Esperanca, Content Director Tiffany Azarra, Project Manager Rebecca Loring, Lead Developer Eric Napier, Developer Ethan Teague and Interactive Developer Ken Hanscom.
