AI Opener for Destinations is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at exploring the potential of generative artificial intelligence in the realm of destination management and marketing. This collaborative project, initiated globally by Group NAO and delivered in the U.S. by Miles Partnership, promises to take 60 participating destinations on an exciting journey into the future of tourism.
The first live session, held on March 14, 2024, marked the beginning of the U.S. cohort’s program. Hosted by C.A. Clark, the session provided an overview of what participants can expect as they delve into the world of AI. Topics covered in this first session included:
- An update from the European Cohort that kicked off at the end of January.
- Introductions to our team of expert advisors.
- Curated updates on the latest AI news relevant to the tourism industry.
- A deep dive into essential terms and concepts with Bruce Amick, COO of Intentful.
- A case study on ChatGPT prompting with Janette Roush, EVP Marketing & Digital at NYC Tourism + Conventions.
The program's schedule spans from March 2024 to December 2024, covering various topics such as content creation, welcome center and visitor services, responsible AI, forecasting, destination management and more. Each session is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and tools to harness AI for their destinations.
