Favorite Travel Memory

My favorite travel memory was when I took my first solo trip to Amsterdam. I fell in love with the city and have already been back twice. 

Neal has worked his way up from designing websites for convention centers named after fried-chicken chains to leading a team of production companies, creative directors, art directors, graphic designers and copywriters to develop brands for some of the most iconic destinations worldwide.

As a U.S. citizen, going over the border to Canada or Mexico isn't really an international trip. So, I chalked AlUla up as my first international trip. It was a fantastic experience even though we worked 19-plus hour days to document some of the first tourism opportunities in Saudi Arabia. Let's say I've learned to travel with a few snacks now due to that trip.

Having grown up all over the world as the child of a resort general manager, Ursula has been in hospitality her entire life, including 30 years in resort marketing before starting the hospitality division at Miles. She was recently named to the HSMAI Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing.

Seeing the world by living in and traveling to more than 60 countries while learning and experiencing a variety of cultures through the people I met and lived near.

Angela is a content manager on the hospitality team who leverages SEO and storytelling to build narratives that resonate, inspire and drive results for clients. Outside of work, she is a foodie who loves exploring new restaurants, getting lost in a good book, puppy yoga and all things event planning.

Staying in a hotel right next to the Eiffel Tower and getting to see it every time I stepped outside!

Melissa is an art director and visitor-guide master who works with her team to develop and execute print and digital creative assets. She is a Wisconsin native who, when not shoveling snow, can be found trying out new recipes with her husband, crafting the last thing she saw on Pinterest or spending time on the water at her cabin on the lake.

Favorite Travel Memory

One of my favorite travel memories was catching freshly made hot rolls in mid-air during dinner at Lambert's Cafe in Ozark, Missouri, with my husband and his family. We all laughed out loud as the waitstaff yelled "hot rools!" and then a bun would fly through the air over our heads into an open hand!

Rachel leads the growth strategy for Destination Wayfinder, helping tourism organizations strengthen destination stewardship. When she’s not advising DMOs, she’s kayaking near her home in Durango, Colorado, cooking global cuisine or exploring her next destination—45 countries and counting!

Favorite Travel Memory

At 14, I visited the small remote island of Nosy Komba, Madagascar, seeing lemurs up close, wandering its beaches and meeting the welcoming locals. That adventure sparked my love for travel and passion for ecotourism, showing me the magic of exploring new places while honoring nature and culture.

Meg is on our paid social team, managing campaigns that connect and engage. Off the clock, she's nose deep in a good book, walking her dog or seeing her favorite artist in concert.

I took an amazing trip to Scotland and Ireland to visit a friend. Exploring old castle ruins, seeing Highland cows and drinking Guinness in a pub in Dublin were some of the highlights of this trip.

A paid media analyst on the hospitality team, Jessica manages and optimizes paid social, paid search and programmatic campaigns to align with client goals. She is continually educating herself on the ever-changing marketing landscape through the digital-marketing masters program at Wake Forest University.

Favorite Travel Memory

I took an amazing trip to Costa Rica. Surfing, riding ATVs and deep-sea fishing were the highlights of the unforgettable adventure.

Luke is a project manager and works mainly with St. Pete/Clearwater. His attention to detail and ability to multitask helps the team deliver exceptional value to each client. Outside of work, he can be found throwing the ball for his dog Fisher, cooking spicy food or biking with his wife.

A favorite travel memory is getting to travel to Germany with my dad in 2014. We were able to travel by train and visit Munich, Stuttgart, Berlin, Frankfurt and many other small towns. The highlight of the trip was getting to go to a football (soccer) match and experience the amazing atmosphere.

Shay is a seasoned senior art director with a background in brand and campaign work, and her role focuses on finding a destination’s unique visual expression. When she’s outside the office, you can probably find her on a mountain or lacing up her roller skates in a big empty parking lot.

Sitting above the clouds in the Andes, tea in hand, watching a sunrise on the Inca Trail near the Wiñay Wayna ruins.

Amanda is part of the email marketing team and manages programs for more than 20 different clients, including program analysis, email builds and deployment, scheduling and process development. When she is not submersed in the email marketing world, she is usually shuttling her two daughters to their many activities.

My daughters played in snow for the first time on a trip to Iowa to visit family. Less than an hour after our plane landed, snow flurries began. After a quick run to Target to find boots, gloves and other snow apparel, there was 2 inches on the ground. We built snowmen and sledded in my brothers yard. My youngest is still talking about how much fun she had that day.

Stacey is a senior graphic designer in Miles’ hospitality division. She's an empathetic learner who strives to solve design problems with the user's needs as her guiding light, always asking questions to challenge assumptions and understand pain points. In her day to day, you can find her designing for social, digital, web, print and more.

Favorite Travel Memory

It was a day full of walking, shopping and bonding with friends old and new in Portland, Oregon, and it ended with a visit to the Lan Su Chinese Garden. The memory of its beauty, the peace and the company I had with me bring a smile to my heart and I'd repeat the day without a second thought.

Maria is an associate media planner who works with both hospitality and DMO clients executing media plans. When she is not calculating CTR, you will likely find her exploring Philadelphia with her partner or writing in a coffee shop.

Debbie works with our client services team supporting DMOs and their teams across the country. She's the mom to three adult children and loves hiking, music, watching football and, of course, traveling.

My favorite, outside of those with my family, would be in Brussels one December during their holiday markets. I spent every night in the square for hours just listening to music and watching the lights and people — it was magical!

Hallie specializes in print layout design and loves taking on any "odd jobs" that get her dabbling in branding and logo work. When away from the design world she's likely lost in a book, at the dog park with her pit bull Winston, or hiking/camping Colorado mountains.

Walking cobblestone streets to the art studio on an early morning, watching the small island-town come to life along the calm Aegean Sea; Spending my morning(s) painting in Greece.

As a member of the destination optimization team, Caitlin helps DMOs directly support their local businesses. She is also a Master Naturalist in her home state of Louisiana, often exploring the outdoors and working on nature-education programs. If you catch her staring out the window, she is probably trying to identify a plant, bird or butterfly.

As a content manager for print and digital initiatives, Christi plans, writes and edits pieces to inspire people to visit the U.S., piquing the former journalist’s interest in exploring new places. Away from work, the Rotary Club member enthusiastically supports the South Florida Bulls.

Elena is an art director whose love for visual storytelling has taken her from Nashville to Chicago to Hawai'i, and she now calls Colorado home. In her free time, she enjoys landscape painting, fly fishing, crafting, camping and hiking with her dogs.

My favorite travel memory is eating my way through Italy: pizza in Naples, seafood in Venice, bistecca alla fiorentina in Florence and so much pasta in Rome, to name a few.

I am part of the Kentucky account team and I assist with project management, ensuring the client’s needs are met and communicated effectively. When I'm not working and immersing myself in all things Kentucky, I'm probably crocheting and preparing for an upcoming market day. Besides that, I love being outside with my pets, tending to my plants and baking delicious treats for friends/family.

Traveling to St. John (USVI) and living like a local for a whole month on the island.

Beth is an account supervisor with a strong attention to detail and an extensive background in client services. Beth is a competitive Ironman triathlete, a soccer enthusiast and dog mom to two Siberian huskies, Odin and Ragnar. Off the clock, she can likely be found training for her next athletic endeavor.

My favorite travel memories are from my childhood. My family vacationed at Black Butte Ranch Resort in Oregon every summer for as long as I can remember. It’s where I learned how to ride a bike and get lost in adventure with my siblings. Every time I smell a pine tree, those memories come flooding back.

A native Kentuckian serving as the senior media planner for our Kentucky client, Melissa uses research, promotional skills, strong negotiation tactics and industry connections to deliver successful media campaigns. When looking to travel, you will likely find Melissa putting her planning skills to work creating itineraries for her husband, daughter and French bulldog, Bea.

I could pick a favorite memory from every single trip I have ever taken. To me, travel fills my soul with memories and personal connections created from new surroundings, unique adventures and incredible experiences.

Working directly for both president and CEO David Burgess and chairman Roger Miles, we all know it’s Lisa Hill who really runs things around here. When she's not keeping upper management in line, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, shopping and, now that she (finally!) has her passport, traveling the world.

Britt is a content manager for both digital and print projects — including monthly eNews, social campaigns, vacation planners and travel guides for clients such as Alaska, Florida, New Jersey and more. She enjoys being on, in or near the water at all times when she's not writing, proofing or coming up with a catchy headline.

Traveling solo around Iceland during New Year's/my birthday and feeling wildly independent and free. But also really, really cold.

As part of the hospitality division, Susi is a master orchestrator who seamlessly brings together creative directors, designers, copywriters and clients. When she is not overseeing the production workflow from concept to delivery, she's planning a trip with her husband Peter to a music festival or winery, or to visit their three daughters who live in three different states.

My daughter Meagan took me on an epic adventure searching for Tom Jones in Cardiff, Wales. Too much fun. (Never found Tom.)

Tiffany thrives on developing big-picture content strategies and working with clients to increase the performance of their digital content, but she also loves straight copy editing. When she isn’t absentmindedly proofreading everything she sees, Tiffany is probably reading, watching college football or daydreaming about Disney World.

Ally is a Denver transplant originally from Sarasota. She is a detail-oriented member of the account services team who loves working alongside her teammates to problem-solve and execute projects of all sizes for her clients. When not in the office, you can find her at hot yoga, adventuring in the mountains and discovering new restaurants.

My favorite travel memory is rafting the Grand Canyon. As a former guide, I was given the opportunity to take a private trip with some friends. Any vacation without cell service is my kind of trip.

Scott is a web developer who brings the web to life through a wide range of front-end technologies and accessibility in mind. When he is not at the computer, he is out hiking and exploring. He lives in Southern California with his wife and two kids.
